£75,000 INVESTMENT IN RADIOS
An order for £75,000 worth of high-tech two way radios could signal that the economy is back on the rise.
Pennine Telecom has taken delivery of 200 Motorola digital handportable radios in response to growing hire demand from markets such as the construction industry, manufacturing, hospitality, distribution and logistics. And the Bury-based company says that in its experience of more than 30 years an increase in radio hire demand is often an indication that the economy is recovering.

“This is the third recession which we’ve traded through and each time we’ve noted that as construction and other industries shrug off the downturn in the economy the demand for two way radio hire rises,” comments Steve Ryan, Hire Director. “It’s common sense really. For instance as sectors like construction recover they need more kit to effectively manage projects and by opting to hire radios they benefit from a cost effective communications solution without committing to a capital outlay. That Pennine is willing to commit to acquiring 200 radios valued at some £75,000 speaks volumes about our confidence in the resilience and growth potential of the markets we serve.”
Motorola’s digital feature-rich Mototrbo units deliver battery life extended by 40 percent, improved voice transmission quality and provide dual analogue and digital capability to enhance on-site communications. They are available for both hire and purchase.
Pennine’s pedigree in the radio communications field means it is well placed to comment on trends. Established in 1976 as a Motorola radio service specialist it has grown to become a major national provider of telecoms and data solutions and services. Its Radio Systems division offers specification, installation and maintenance support provided by skilled engineers whilst its hire services include professional advice and competitive rates from our efficient team who will manage the provision of all necessary equipment.
